Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno had an Orthopedic Surgeon on their radio show today. He said Fowler's injury was worse than Victor Cruz' identical ruptured patellar tendon injury because the impact with that FRIGGIN electrical box broke the skin and made it an open wound.
He said Fowler won't be able to bend his knee for at least three months while it heals. Then depending on the healing process, will only be able to do minimal rehab for the next three months. After that, the muscles that haven't been used for the past six month will have to gain strength again, and that could take another three months. Add baseball activities, trying to get to the previous level of baseball shape, it could be over a year until we see him on a baseball diamond again.
He's only 22 years old, and not on the other side of 30. Hopefully that helps!
