This topic isn't going away - ironically the electronic sign stealing broke shortly after the World Series. As fans we hoped that when the Commissioner said his office would thoroughly investigate we would get answers in time to start 2020 without a bad taste. That won't happen. Part of the blame falls on the doorstep of Tony Clark & the players association for not demanding the truth but rather going all out to protect players invovlved with the cheating .Apparently he isn't considering the players who might have had their careers/salaries/endorsements, etc Well now we have a pitcher who is suing MLB over the loss. The tip of the iceberg.
as for the Commisioner how can they say the investigation was thorough and they found no evidence of the buzzers. Trash cans, whistling, were found but not the buzzers. If Hinch was so against it, looks like he didn't have even power over Cora to stop - leads me to believe that Crane was supporting the whole system. He was in & out of the dugout, down on the field amongst the players. His only punishment the fine - and by firing Hinch & the GM so quickly, maybe it takes 'heat off' him.
There's still a lot of unanswered questions - oh yeah Cora's punishment still hasn't been announced - day after tomorrow training camps officially open for P & Cs. Many have reported to Tampa already.
Ok - I'll get off the soapbox for now
