you don't rush into any back procedure - too many nerves, etc can be involved and just a little nick can cause damage that never goes away (this I know first hand - the doctors said Pax did not need surgery in the fall - time didn't heal it so rather go into spring training with the possibility it might clear up the procedure was done. Missing the first couple of months doesn't hurt as much as missing the stretch drive & post season. This was handled right
