besides we've seen NL pitchers hit a brick wall pitching in the AL East - takes strong mettle to stand up to the Bronx faithful & succeed
how many did we see fail. Remember George signing them to long term contracts even after their prime - the albatross contracts that hung on - we're still paying for Ellsbury (mostly repaid via insurance since he hasn't played in years). Cash was a bit ahead of the grid in using computers & sabermetrics to rebuild without going through tanking seasons.
