I know hitman will give them a ribbon for participation and stay eternally optimistic, but I'm sick of seeing our pitching. It's a disgrace.
Toga, Giambino and Uncle Kev will vouch that I haven't always been the eternal optimist here over the years, lol.
I can't see myself complaining all the time during this season because of the injuries, because they're in 1st place by nine games in the loss column, and because the players on this team are likable. Can they fall short come October? Absolutely, but we have so much to be happy about this season so far, that I can't bitch and complain if:
1. Judge isn't hitting home runs, even though he's batting close to .300.
2. Cashman doesn't make any trades by tomorrow's 4:00pm deadline, because every GM in MLB is yelling "Gleyber, Gleyber, Gleyber"!!!
3. Get on Rothchild's case because the starting pitching has hit a wall recently, while just a few weeks ago, they were one of the BEST staffs in all of Major League Baseball. (Where was the praise for Rothchild then??)
Maybe it's because I'm a New Yorker, and I see the sh*t show that's being performed in the Cesspool in Flushing. (Now that's a disgrace!!). They can have Stroman all they want. With the exception of Alonzo (God I hope he doesn't hit 53 HR's!!) and McNeil, they are a MESS!!! (By the way, Diaz blew another save tonight!).
Was losing 3 out of 4 in Boston frustrating? Yes. Was tonight's loss annoying? Yes. Will I be disappointed if Brian Cashman can't get a deal done because he refuses to be bent over a barrel? Yes, but I won't be bitter and angry.
I'm going to enjoy every minute of this Grrrrrreat season until it ends. Hopefully that will be in late October!!
