Michael has been saying that since the season began - emphasis on Keuchel is not the same pitcher. Houston offered a qualifying contract which he turned down - wanting more $$$ & years. No team has been interested in him. Even for a team to offer him an incentive contract after the deadline would have to be desperate - he would have to put in a full 'spring training ' to be ready. FWIW by then . could be almost ready to return to the rotation plus Jordy Montgomery could be throwing . I'm still wanting to give our guys their chance than throw $$$ at a Keuchel. Remember this CC's final year and Masa's contract is up next year. Just MHO but I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to return to Japan _ provided his elbow holds out for another season & half. Just a thought.
