Michael Kay said on his show today that if a team waits until after the draft to sign Kuechel, then they would not have to give up a compensational pick. If that's the case, then do NOT sign Kuechel before the MLB draft.
Kay and LaGreca also both strongly emphasized that Kuechel is not the same pitcher that shut out the Yankees in the Wild Card game five years ago. That Kuechel is a bottom of the rotation pitcher right now at best. If that's the case, then stay away.
