Year 2018...

Stanton: BA .266, HR 38, RBI 100, R 102

Harper: BA .249, HR 34, RBI 100, R 103

Career...

Stanton: BA .268, HR 305, RBI 772, R 678 (9 seasons)

Harper: BA .279, HR 184, RBI 521, R 610 (7 seasons)

Stanton's remaining contract with the Yankees starting with year 2018 and ending in 2028:

310 million -MINUS- 31 million from the Marlins who are eating 31 million of the 310 million = 279 million*

The 279 million price tag for the Yankees Includes the salary from the final year in 2028 for 25 million dollars. The Yankees have a club option buyout for 10 million dollars. If the Yankees buy him out of his final year in 2028 which they most likely will, it would the bring the total cost for the New York Yankees down to 264 million.

Harper's contract: 330 million over 13 years, who will be 39 years old in his final year of his Phillies contract. Stanton will be 37 years old during the entire 2027 season. (Will turn 38 in November of 2027)

In retrospect, I now think Brian Cashman did the right thing. Stanton is very similar, maybe even better than Harper, and he will be cheaper over the remainder of his contract, compared to what Harper will cost the Phillies over the next 13 years.

Kudos to Mr Cashman thumbs upthumbs up
