Maybe I learned to roll with the punches and see what happens. This season was divided into 3 parts - that really slow start then a hot streak that took us into first place with the best or second best record next to Houston Then came settling back to Earth which coincided with injuries so we fell behind Boston but maintained that nice lead on HFA in a W/C game. In the last month that lead is down to a mere one game with the bonus second if we have a tie with the A's. Since the AS break we've watched the Dr. Jekyll side of Severino - complete reversal of the first half where he just decimated with control & velocity. Not sure what the problem is but to be considered is his youth - only his second full season as a starter - with 200 Ks in both & starting over 20 games - that's a lot of adjusting & taxes the arm. Judge has been out since July. Stanton picked up the slack playing in over 80 consecutive games any wonder he's a little sluggish. Andujar & Torres are battling for ROY but each has gone through typical ups & downs. Boone is a rookie manager and from the start said he would rely on his coaching staff (all with experience) - well I think once again Larry Rothchild leaves something to be desired. Pitchers are responsible for their games but the coach should be aware of fatigue or potential injury - leaving starters in for that one more pitch or letting a RP stay in until the game is out of control. Ok so I'm getting old - take the losses hard, hang in until the team is totally eliminated & come back next year (for as long as there is breath in this old bod) for more. I will take my love for the Yankees to the grave - literally.
