Will do, Hitter!

My obsession with the Yankees started back in 1981 so I did not get to bask in the glory of the Bronx Zoo('77 & '78). It was the '81 season that got me started and I have been hooked on the Pinstripers ever since. I've never seen the Yankees play live unfortunately(at this point it would be more of a dream than anything elsesad smiley) but I have worshipped them from afar ever since that '81 season and then endured a lot of mediocre Yankee teams after '81 until 1995.

I guess my suffering and the suffering of all Yankee fans pretty much was over beginning with 1996 as that WS championship helped ease the sting of losing to Seattle in the playoffs the year before and realizing that Donnie Baseball wasn't going to win a ringsad smiley

Although I missed out on the Bronx Zoo teams and coupled with that not learning about the greatness of Thurman Munson while he was alive I have been fascinated watching any and all the footage I can find from those teams. I actually found Guidry's 18 strikeout performance in its entirety on youtube. That was a pretty cool find for me!

I also very much enjoyed watching the The Bronx is Burning toothumbs upeye popping smileysmileys with beer

These days with my ability to access the Yankees via the web I try to watch as many games as I can with the YES announcers as much as possible. I am now finding that even when the Yankees are on TV I have to be able to watch and listen to the game with the YES announcers as that is who I have most enjoyed. If the game isn't being carried by YES then I grin and bear whoever is doing the game. Thankfully that does not happen very often.

On those nights when the game is on TV if it isn't the YES broadcast then I try to stream them just because of my strong preference for Michael Kay and Co. The Blue Jays announcers are so monotone that I gave up trying to watch the tv broadcasts against the Jays for fear of falling asleep while watching them. No, give me Paul O'Neill, David Cone and any of the rest of the stable of color commentators as I have difficulty watching any of the opposing teams broadcasts or their announcers.

Y'all probably don't find that a problem as you can watch or listen to the all Yankee games on YES or the Yankees flagship radio station, WFAN. Guess I'm too far north to access YES any other way than via the web. I am so grateful to have the web stream as an avenue as it has allowed me to access a lot more Yankee gamesthumbs up!!!thumbs up Wasn't always that way.
