What makes anyone think Cash didn't???? He & his staff were checking out all available pitching getting the best they could without rupturing the system for the future. Not every pitcher was available and not every team is willing to deal with the Yankees on an even basis - often holding us up for higher & more prospects & talent than they are offering. Not every potential deal makes it to the media headlines.
