I'm thinking Sonny Gray can't pitch in the Bronx - what concerns me is (a) Tommy Kahnle - was hoping once he returned from the DL he would have his sharp control back; all I saw was his velocity was up. No command; was last year a fluke? (b) taking a page from Coney on DRob - all the pitches he threw late last year has the carry over effect we're seeing and sadly will be dealing with this year - we saw the way Chap was affected in 2017 by all the misuse by the Cubs in 2016 playoffs.
We definitely to get some dependable pitchers - yes I used the plural. Severino has been our constant - oh he may have a subpar outing or two but still would give him the ball in a critical game. Sabathia seems to lose effectiveness after 70-75 pitches down from the 90-100 last year. Tanaka really hasn't lived up to the hype or rep he had in Japan. Gray is Gray - who knows if he will ever be the stud pitcher we expected. Jordy seems to be the only one we don't hear about who's on the DL - good thing he was in for the save of Tyler the other night but no telling how long before he even gets sent for rehab games. I have no confidence in Domingo.
