Six days ago we were in Cleveland blowing a 5 run lead - Joe Girardi admitted to wrong decisions, haters screaming for his head on the chopping block. How often have we listened to 'fans' calling for Cashman's firing during the years. This team was put together with a core group of Baby Bombers who were expected to mature in perhaps two years mixed with some veterans who had experienced the battles of post season competition. Remember trade deadline of '16 when Cash pursued a deal with the Cubs - Chapman for Gleybar Torres - then resigned Chapman during the off season. The same Cashman who was maligned for letting DRob go to the White Sox but in July brought DRob back along with Tommy Kahnle and Todd Frazier (to fortify the hot corner). Both of these gentlemen are going to have their contracts up for renewal come midnight October 31st or when the Yankee season comes to an official end (hopefully after the WS) Whatever the next three hold in store for the Yankees, we would not be where we without the leadership of Joe Girardi and the maneuvers/trades of Brian Cashman with the support of Hal Steinbrenner who signs the checks. I expect to see Cash back but not sure about Joe - but let that be his decision.
