I know we have this year’s playoffs and WS to think about, but since I like to think about the future also, I know we need another front line (Ace) pitcher to go along with Severino. I think Gerritt Cole can be that guy, but we’re going to have to beat out the Angels for his services. I know we can offer him a better offensive team to play on than the Angels, even with Mike Trout, but it’s also going to take a commitment on the Steinbrenner’s part to spend some cash to get the best pitcher in free agency on our staff. With CC gone and Tanaka not being the pitcher he was when we signed him, and Happ getting older, I think getting Cole should be our first priority moving forward. Thoughts?
