Ohtani Favoring West Coast Teams

We have seen other Japanese studs come to MLB and bomb - is Ohtani trying to avoid this mistake by going to a small market team. Perhaps he wants to have a team closer to his home. Whatever the reason looks like the Yankees & Sux are both out of the running. Maybe he just wants a NL team where pitchers bat - whatever the reason he still has not played American baseball so he could be a dud.
