Five straight losses on the left coast could have us in a tie for 1st before the night's over. Our lead has been shrinking as the Sux heated up during our pitching woes. Key injuries to the pitching staff - starters (CC) and relievers (Chapman who should be back tomorrow & Warren on the 10-day) have been taking a toll. Betances, Clippard & Warren have been over worked along with Holder. Some of the younger guys have been thrown into the heat of battle. Looks like Sanchez might be in action tomorrow. Matt Holliday had an allergic reaction to whatever was served for breakfast at the ball park. I still want to find an alternative to Carter.
As for Tanaka - I'm at a loss. He struck out 10 in 4 innings but gives up too many gopher balls. I still question whether its mechanics or in his head - whatever it is we cannot afford the continued losses with him. We still have a good chance for playoff. We can't afford Carter going cold - hot - colder - warm - the Ks are becoming too frequent, a couple long balls doesn't make up for the games he costs us. I'm to tired to rant right now - those short sleep nights have come to an nightmarish end with an afternoon game tomorrow.
